Optiscan Group has launched version 1.5 of its AbakusDirect software. The update introduces the ability to manage the distribution of an item across multiple storage locations (multi-location), improved traceability of work tasks, and technical enhancements that strengthen the system’s reliability and long-term quality.
AbakusDirect is positioned as a Warehouse Execution System (WES) that supports day-to-day warehouse operations and integrates with customers’ existing ERP or WMS environments. The latest version reinforces this role whilst broadening its functionality.
The most significant new feature in version 1.5 is the management of multiple storage locations for a single item – multi-location. Many ERP and warehouse systems can only handle one storage location per item. In practice, however, the same item is often stored in several locations due to space constraints, picking optimisation or operational requirements.
With support for multi-location, AbakusDirect makes it possible to manage this complexity without replacing existing ERP or WMS systems. The feature thus bridges the gap between system limitations and operational reality.
Version 1.5 also introduces the “Task History” feature, which provides clearer insight into completed workflows and operational events.
